Maison Beausoleil is a Partnership that developed a new technique enabling them to raise oysters on the surface of the water all year round. The business and the products are treats to behold.

Oysters grow best in areas where salt & fresh water mix together, like salt marshes.

The production cycle for oysters is between 3 & 5 years. The oysters are preserved in the freezing cold but clean Atlantic waters.

The process begins with about 2000 oysters per pouch. To ensure a uniform growth, the oysters are sorted in ten different stages. Over the years, the number of oysters per pouch is reduced to 200-250.

Even though Mother Nature was responsible for the loss of over a million mussels in 2001, she plays an important role in the cultivation of Maison Beausoleil oysters.
Since 1989, Léon Lateigne had invested a considerable amount of his own finances in the company. He acknowledges the fact that without the financial support of various organizations, he would have struggled to stay afloat.

Oysters are a good source of vitamins, protein, and minerals, including iron.

But all of his hard work has payed-off. Now Maison Beausoleil is certified by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency for export to the US, Europe and Asia.
