Pellet Flame Inc., a took an idea from the garage to the manufacturing plant and then overseas. Pellet Flame Inc. accesses sawdust waste from mills and turns it into a manageable resource that is clean, environmentally safe and sustainable.

The company has 120 rail cars on private lease just to transport product from Prince George to Vancouver and on to world markets.

John sees pellet fuel as a viable source of energy that could be used a lot more in Canada, but feels it's not given the proper recognition by government in comparison to other alternative energy technologies.

Most of Pellet Flame's product is shipped to Europe. Some countries have government regulations that prohibit the use of a distributor for sales of energy products, so they sell directly to power producers.

Tranportation costs add up to around 8 million dollars a year, more than your average courier bill, that's for sure!

Pellet fuel is currently a fifty million dollar a year production industry in BC and is positioned to grow substantially in the next few years.
