Fond Memories started with the demise of the family pet over a decade ago. They've been buried in work ever since.

Most people have experienced a family pet passing away from illness or trauma, usually at the vet's office and never to be seen again. Fond Memories provides peace of mind for grieving pet owners and a welcoming haven to share fond memories.

Of the thousands of pets that die each day, less than two hundred are buried in Pet Cemetaries.

Darren's a busy guy. During the warmer months he'll work 65 hours at his business plus hold down a full time job.

His wife helps the family business and has a full time job as well. Darren hires students as needed to maintain the cemetery grounds.

Some clients were so pleased with Fond Memories, they included the company in their will. Now that's good service!

The pet care and pet supplies industries are expected to become an $8 billion market by 2007.

For a business based on the demise of the family pet, marketing is a sensitive undertaking. The vet clinics provide their clients with Fond Memory brochures and support packages, really as a service to the pet owners.

Darren also visits the local veterinary college, handing out cards and letting people know about their services. That and a booth at the Canadian Kennel Club during major events all help to promote the business. Good service doesn't hurt either!
